Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2013 Champagne is an exceptional cuvée, symbolizing the floral elegance and precision of the house style. Presented here in a magnum bottle in its superb wooden case, it embodies the art of blending and the pure expression of a great Champagne vintage, marked by freshness and mineral tension.
An emblematic cuvée of the Perrier-Jouët House's expertise, Belle Epoque 2013 illustrates the quest for perfect balance between floral finesse, harmonious structure, and timeless elegance. Its blending highlights the complementary nature of the three Champagne grape varieties, each bringing a specific dimension to the cuvée.
The grapes come exclusively from the Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, including Cramant, Avize, Mailly, Verzy, and Verzenay. These predominantly chalky terroirs give the wine its taut minerality, aromatic brilliance, and salty length, characteristic of the Belle Epoque style.
The cuvée is produced using traditional methods, with more than six years of aging on lees to reveal its full complexity. A small proportion of the wines are vinified in barrels, bringing a silky texture and subtle buttery notes. The dosage of 9 g/L highlights the balance between tension and generosity typical of the House of Perrier-Jouët.
The year 2013 was characterized by a long, cool cycle, marked by a late harvest in October. This exceptionally balanced climate allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and remain remarkably fresh. The Chardonnays express a crystalline tension, while the Pinot Noirs reveal a fruity and spicy depth. This rare vintage combines purity, precision, and long aging potential.
The color is a pale crystalline golden yellow with greenish highlights. The effervescence, of exemplary finesse, forms a persistent and silky cordon.
The nose opens with floral aromas of jasmine, lime blossom, and hawthorn, supported by notes of green apple, light honey, and marzipan. With aeration, nuances of brioche and candied lemon add complexity.
The palate is full-bodied, delicate, and perfectly balanced. White fruits and citrus blend with a chalky texture and a salty, persistent finish, revealing the signature of Chardonnay from Avize and Cramant.
Serve Belle Epoque 2013 between 8 and 10°C in a tulip glass to concentrate its floral aromas and minerality. The magnum format offers a slower evolution, enhancing the wine's freshness and balance.
Store the magnum horizontally, between 10 and 12°C, away from light and vibrations. Thanks to its balanced structure, this cuvée has an aging potential of 15 to 20 years, gaining complexity with notes of honey and dried fruit.

Belle Epoque 2013 blends approximately 50% Chardonnay for floral purity, 45% Pinot Noir for structure and intensity, and 5% Meunier for roundness. A classic trio that creates a silky palate and a fresh, precise, and persistent finish.
Serve the magnum between 8 and 10°C in a tulip glass with a narrow bowl to concentrate the floral aromas and minerality. Open 10 minutes before serving; avoid decanting to preserve the finesse of the mousse and the balance.
As a refined aperitif or with a meal: delicate oysters with lemon caviar, scallop carpaccio, sole meunière, or roasted lobster. Desserts that are not too sweet and feature citrus fruits (lemon tart, pavlova) prolong its salinity and freshness without overpowering the wine.
In magnum format, Belle Epoque 2013 offers 15 to 20 years of cellaring potential. Store horizontally, at 10-12°C, in the dark and without vibration. With time, light honey, dried fruit, brioche and an ever-elegant chalky patina will appear.
