G.H. Mumm's Brut Millésimé 2009 is distinguished by its finesse and fruity aromas.
2009 was an almost perfect year, with a mild autumn followed by a cold winter. Spring got off to a gentle start, offering idyllic conditions before June and July failed to distinguish themselves with plenty of rain. Fortunately, a perfect month of August, hot and dry, favored excellent concentration right up to the harvest in mid-September.
The excellent ripeness of the grapes led Didier Mariotti, G.H. Mumm's cellar master, to create a blend combining the architecture and power of the Pinots Noirs (68%) with the mineral freshness and finesse of the Chardonnays (32%).
This is a Brut Millésime focused on roundness and fruity aromas. All grapes come exclusively from villages classified as Grands Crus.
Mumm Brut Millésimé 2009 offers a nose revealing aromas of stewed yellow fruit and apricot marmalade. These fragrances evolve towards pastry notes (vanilla, brioche, honey) and roasted notes.
On the palate, this cuvée offers a rich, round and greedy attack. The palate is carried by a fine minerality and great freshness.
The finish is long, vibrating for several seconds on notes of yellow fruit.
