The Grande Cuvée from Champagne Moutard is an elegant and generous brut. It embodies the family expertise of the Moutard house in Buxeuil, in the Côte des Bar. Produced from a Kimmeridgian clay-limestone terroir, this 100% Pinot Noir cuvée seduces with its bright fruit, deliciousness, and sunny style. A champagne for pleasure, ideal as an aperitif or with a meal.
The Grande Cuvée is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of the Côte des Bar. The vines, aged between 20 and 50 years old, are pruned using the Guyot method, with rigorous soil preparation including winter plowing and organic amendments (cow manure compost and grape marc).
The grapes come from the clay-limestone slopes of the Kimmeridgian, located around Buxeuil. This complex soil, rich in marine fossils, gives the wine its minerality and natural tension.
Vinification follows the traditional Champagne method, with gentle pressing followed by cold settling (7°C). Alcoholic fermentation is controlled at between 18 and 20°C to produce very fine bubbles. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle at 15°C, with a minimum of 24 months' aging on slats. The dosage is 8 g/L (Brut).
The color is a deep golden yellow, bright, with fine, lively bubbles.
The nose is powerful and fruity, dominated by aromas of red and yellow fruits, with a hint of acidity.
On the palate, the texture is silky and indulgent. The bubbles are lively, the fruit flavors are expressive, carried by a beautiful freshness and a dynamic finish.
The Grande Cuvée should be stored horizontally, away from light, between 10 and 12°C, in a cellar or cool place with no temperature fluctuations.
This champagne can be stored until 2030. It will retain its freshness and deliciousness while developing more evolved aromas of dried fruit and pastry.
Grande Cuvée is a versatile cuvée, perfect for a festive aperitif, a family meal, or a convivial evening with generous dishes.
