Description
Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2002 is the 69th vintage from the Maison.
This year had a warm and dry vintage because of a period of hard frost that destroyed part of the grape.
Nevertheless, this early-maturing year brought about by dry soil conditions and accelerated ripening gave a rare concentration of aromas to the wine.
The champagne grape blend is 31% Chardonnay, 38% Pinot Noir and 31% Pinot Meunier.
This vintage cuvée with silky shades is full bodied, it presents a lovely assertive fruitness. Its perfumed bouquet reminds peach and pear, dry fruits, and some bready characters with a tinge of malt.
In the mouth, it is a round, powerful and well-constructed wine.
A superb marriage of freshness and power, with a candied lemon hint and a mineral finish that has true gravitas.
