Grand Vintage 2016 is Moët & Chandon's77th vintage, a collection that began in 1842 to satisfy the enthusiasm of British and American connoisseurs. This vintage is composed of 48% Chardonnay, 34% Pinot Noir, and 18% Meunier. The year 2016 was marked by contrasting weather conditions, putting the Champagne vineyards to the test with some difficult periods. However, this year produced black grapes of exceptional quality, revealing a beautiful aromatic palette.
Pinot Noir brings structure and exotic notes, while Chardonnay offers great freshness and a range of citrus aromas. Meunier gives the wine subtle tension and fruity aromas. The vinification and prolonged aging on lees allow this vintage to fully express the Champagne terroir. The ideal serving temperature for this champagne is 40-55°F, in order to reveal all its nuances.
