The history of the Special Club
The Club des Trésors de Champagne, created in 1971, brings together a prestigious selection of Champagne winegrowers, all united by the same goal: to reveal the hidden treasures of winegrowers' champagnes. Each member must produce an exceptional cuvée called Special Club, representing the quintessence of their expertise.
Since 1988, a unique and recognizable bottle has been used for this cuvée, providing a strong visual signature. Today, 28 talented winemakers continue this tradition of excellence.
The creation of the 2020 Marc Hébrart Special Club magnum
This champagne is made from 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay, sourced from Premier and Grand Cru plots in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Louvois. The selected terroirs, such as Faubourg d'Enfer and Croix Blanche, combine chalk and clay, giving the wine elegance and intensity.
Vinified in small temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, this champagne undergoes partial malolactic fermentation, giving it a velvety texture while preserving its beautiful freshness. Aged for 36 months on slats, it is dosed as Extra Brut, enhancing the perfect balance between liveliness and aromatic intensity.
The 2020 vintage
The 2020 vintage was marked by exceptional weather in Champagne, combining warm days and cool nights. These ideal conditions allowed the grapes to ripen perfectly, combining intense aromatic richness with remarkable freshness. This vintage is particularly memorable for its powerful Pinot Noirs and vibrant Chardonnays, which define the signature style of this cuvée.
