Description
Lombard's Extra Brut Premier Cru Blanc de Noirs is a champagne that combines gourmet notes with great freshness.
This cuvée is made from a blend of Pinots Noirs from Premier Cru terroirs (Rilly-la-Montagne, Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes, Sermiers, Cumières). 60% of the wine is aged in stainless steel vats, while the remainder is matured in oak barrels. This achieves a fine balance between the tension and freshness provided by the stainless steel tank and the patina and deliciousness provided by the micro-oxygenation of the wood.
The cellar master has opted to block malolactic fermentation for 80% of the wines, in order to conserve high energy levels. Lombard Champagne Extra Brut Premier Cru Blanc de Noirs is then aged for 3 to 4 years in the house cellars in Epernay. The dosage is light (4g/l) to preserve all the wine's tension.
This is a cuvée with great finesse and elegance, revealing lovely toasty notes, which will accompany an aperitif or go well with shellfish or white meat.
