The Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru produced by the Le Mesnil cooperative is a champagne that combines freshness, lightness, and finesse. It is an elegant cuvée, perfect as an aperitif.
The Le Mesnil sur Oger cooperative is one of only two cooperatives in Champagne authorized to use the village name as a trademark. Le Mesnil-sur-Oger is one of the most iconic villages in the Côte des Blancs. It is a terroir with chalky, poor soils that force the vines to dig deep into the ground for nourishment. The result is grapes with great freshness and immense minerality.
This Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Grand Cru terroir of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Vinified in stainless steel vats to preserve maximum freshness and lightness, the wine is then bottled and stored in cellars several dozen meters underground.
The Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Le Mesnil has a pale gold color and very fine bubbles.
On the nose, it is a fresh champagne with intense notes of acacia and a toasty touch on the second nose.
On the palate, the attack is pleasant and fresh without being sharp. The mid-palate reveals beautiful notes of fruit and pastry, supported by the wine's minerality.
This Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru from Le Mesnil is a superb aperitif that can also accompany fine dishes such as noble fish or shellfish.
