The production of Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Itération No. 26
Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Itération n°26 is a unique blend of three exceptional vintages: 2012 (65%), 2008 (25%) and 2007 (10%). This blend recreates what nature can never give: the perfect year. The Grand Siècle cuvée is based on three unchanging principles: selecting three rare years for their complementary qualities, giving priority to Chardonnay (58%) complemented by Pinot Noir (42%), and allowing for long aging on lees to achieve unparalleled complexity.
This 26th iteration therefore combines three complementary vintages. 2012 brings elegant, balanced Chardonnays and very fruity Pinot Noirs. The 2008 vintage offers complexity, tension and great expressiveness. Finally, 2007 offers Chardonnays with notes of fresh fruit and Pinot Noirs with aromas of yellow fruit.
The Chardonnays come from four Grands Crus in the Côte des Blancs: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant, and Avize. The Pinot Noirs come from the exceptional terroirs of the Montagne de Reims: Tours-sur-Marne, Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzy. The cuvée benefits from 10 years of extended aging on lees in the Laurent-Perrier cellars, giving it its complexity and aromatic depth. The cuvée is dosed as Brut, preserving the perfect balance of aromas.
