The Reflets de Rivière cuvée by Goutorbe Bouillot is a tribute to the Marne River that flows at the foot of the village of Damery, where this champagne is produced. A fruity and fresh champagne, perfect as an aperitif.
It is a blend of the three main Champagne grape varieties: Pinot Meunier (60%), Pinot Noir (20%) and Chardonnay (20%). All are planted on the terroir of Damery, a Champagne village on the banks of the Marne. Its clay-limestone hillsides produce grapes with beautiful tension and great aromatic richness.
The Reflets de Rivière cuvée is based on a perpetual reserve started in 1980, refreshed with a significant proportion of wine from the last harvest. After bottling, the wine is aged for 30 months in the cellars of the house.
This perpetual reserve gives the wine a lovely patina, while the absence of malolactic fermentation preserves its great freshness.
Reflets de Rivière Goutorbe Bouillot has a pale gold color, with fine, lively bubbles.
Its nose, initially discreet, reveals notes of white fruit (pear) and a touch of yellow fruit.
On the palate, this champagne starts with a clean attack, immediately followed by a delicious and well-balanced mid-palate. Beautiful notes of fresh fruit are found, before the finish evokes citrus fruits for a few moments.
An excellent aperitif that can also be enjoyed with shellfish or a cold starter.
