      Description

Célébris 1998 Extra Brut from Gosset celebrates a memorable vintage of which this cuvee is the marvelous quintessence.

It is only the fourth to be produced after 1988, 1990 and 1995. The first, Célébris 1988 Extra Brut, was created on the occasion of this remarkable year to pay homage to the Gosset style and its prestigious history – that of a family maintaining traditions from generation to generation since 1584. Its successor, Célébris 1998 Extra Brut, composed of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs (64%) and Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims (36%), both from Grand Cru terroirs, unveils aromas of great plenitude.

It is a champagne which is lightly dosed (3,5g/L) and which exemplifies all the characteristics of this 1998 vintage. The Gosset Célébris 1998 presents a profusion of tiny bubbles and a deep golden robe of great brilliance and limpidity, with slight green tints.

It offers up floral and fruity notes, intermingling the fresh fragrances of hawthorn, privet, jasmine and orange blossom with more mature aromas of pineapple, vine peach and apricot, and, after a few minutes, lemon balm and lemon verbena with a waft of vanilla.

Full bodied, vivacious and complex. The lively caress of the effervescence creates a subtle fusion of aromas, ending on concentrated vanilla.
