The 2016 Les Belles Voyes cuvée produced by Olivier Bonville is an elegant and complex wine. It is a champagne that reveals all the richness of this iconic plot of the Grand Cru d'Oger terroir.
Les Belles Voyes 2016 is made from Chardonnay grapes grown on the historic Les Belles Voyes plot, located halfway up the hillside in the Grand Cru terroir of Oger. Planted in 1960, this 0.8-hectare plot produces grapes of consistent ripeness. The juices are pressed separately and fermented in oak barrels, adding woody notes and great aromatic complexity. After vinification in Burgundy-style vats, this cuvée is aged for over five years in the cellar. The Extra-Brut dosage, at only 2.5 g/L, preserves the purity and authenticity of the Oger terroir.
The 2016 vintage in Champagne was marked by contrasting weather conditions. After a wet spring, the hot, dry summer promoted slow, even ripening of the grapes. In Oger, the Belles Voyes plot benefited from an ideal balance between sunshine and cool nights, ensuring healthy, aromatic grapes. This vintage is distinguished by wines with great aromatic intensity and remarkable aging potential.
The color is an intense golden hue, illuminated by fine, regular bubbles.
The nose reveals delicious pastry aromas, with notes of brioche, toasted almonds and a subtle hint of vanilla.
On the palate, Les Belles Voyes 2016 offers an elegant and round attack. Flavors of fresh butter and dried fruit mingle with a minty, iodine-laced freshness, offering a rich and complex structure. The finish is long and balanced, marked by a slight, controlled oxidation.
The price of a bottle of Les Belles Voyes 2016 Franck Bonville is 84,95 €. This exceptional champagne, made from Grand Cru d'Oger grapes and carefully aged, is for connoisseurs looking for rare wines with great aromatic complexity.
