Description

The 2019 PM from Maison Elemart-Robion is an exceptional cuvée showcasing a rare and forgotten grape variety: Petit Meslier. This 2019 vintage reveals the purity of the Lhéry terroir. This lively and refined champagne seduces with its minerality, aromatic complexity, and remarkable balance.

The production of Champagne Petit Meslier 2019

Made exclusively from Petit Meslier, a historic Champagne grape variety renowned for its freshness and natural acidity, this 2019 vintage is the result of precise and meticulous work.

The grapes are harvested by hand on the Les Vieilles Vignes plot, located in Lhéry, in the Ardre Valley. Its soil, composed of Middle Lutetian limestone, and its south-west exposure promote slow and optimal ripening. Cultivated using organic viticulture, this plot gives the wine a beautiful mineral tension and great complexity.

Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation, which brings roundness and balance. Aging continues for seven months on lees in oak barrels, allowing the wine to gain aromatic richness. Bottled in May 2020, this champagne has benefited from a long aging on slats before disgorging in May 2023. True to its spirit of purity, it is made without the addition of sugar during disgorging (zero dosage) to fully express its unique character.

The 2019 vintage

The year 2019 in Champagne was marked by favorable weather conditions, with a hot, dry summer that allowed the grapes to ripen perfectly. This vintage is distinguished by its vibrant freshness, mineral tension, and rich aromatic palette, making it a cuvée that is well suited for aging.
