The production of Amour de Deutz 2014
Amour de Deutz is a cuvée created in 1993, a true emblem of the elegance and uniqueness of the house. The 2014 vintage illustrates Deutz's desire to magnify Chardonnay in its purest expression. Made exclusively from grapes from the finest terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, this champagne is a rare and refined gem.
This cuvée is made from 100% Chardonnay, exclusively from Premiers and Grands Crus:
- Avize: balance, elegance, and mineral tension.
- Oger: richness and aromatic intensity.
- Chouilly: floral finesse and roundness.
- Mesnil-sur-Oger: freshness, structure, and crystalline brilliance.
- Villers-Marmery: airy freshness and citrus notes.
Vinification
The 2014 harvest took place from September 14 to 23, under ideal conditions. Bottled on June 23, 2015, this cuvée has aged for nine years in the historic cellars of Deutz, acquiring a rare complexity. Malolactic fermentation was carried out, bringing suppleness and harmony. The dosage, at 7.5 g/L, makes it a refined Brut, balancing tension and richness.
According to Caroline Latrive, cellar master, Amour de Deutz 2014 is " a hymn to the light of the most beautiful Chardonnay terroirs in Champagne," a cuvée dedicated to exceptionality and emotion.
The 2014 vintage in Champagne
After a mild, dry spring, the September sunshine allowed the grapes to ripen to perfection. The harvest, carried out under clear skies, yielded healthy, balanced, and concentrated fruit. 2014 is recognized as a vintage of finesse and opulence, where aromatic richness is combined with persistent freshness. Amour de Deutz 2014 is a perfect illustration of this, with its indulgent opulence, crystalline liveliness, and timeless elegance.
