The 2012 vintage from Charles Heidsieck is an expressive and indulgent champagne. A cuvée carried by a rich vintage. It is a cuvée that is perfect as an aperitif, but also as an accompaniment to gourmet dishes.
The 2012 vintage is rich and intense, with beautiful aromatic power. It produced grapes combining great aromatic maturity and beautiful tension.
This champagne is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, with grapes sourced exclusively from Premier and Grand Cru classified vineyards. After vinification and aging in stainless steel vats, the wine was bottled. The bottles were then aged for eight years in the house's cellars. After disgorging, the 2012 Charles Heidsieck vintage was dosed at 8g/l (Brut).
This cuvée has a brilliant golden color with slightly amber highlights. Its bubbles are fine and lively.
On the nose, the 2012 Charles Heidsieck opens with notes of candied citrus, ripe yellow fruit and dried fruit.
On the palate, this champagne has an elegant and round attack. In the mid-palate, the wine becomes more indulgent, still carried by a salty tension and great minerality. The finish evolves into a rich register, with notes of caramel and citrus.
This 2012 vintage from Charles Heidsieck is the perfect accompaniment to smoked white meats, roast monkfish wrapped in Serrano ham with a full-bodied jus and oyster mushrooms, or a mille-feuille with salted butter caramel and roasted hazelnut pieces.
