Champagne Bollinger's La Grande Année 2015 is an exceptional vintage, the result of a hot summer tempered by regular rains in early August, ensuring optimal ripeness and preserved acidity. This vintage, marked by perfect balance, offers a rich, expressive texture and a promising future.
This Grande Année is made from 11 prestigious crus: Pinot Noir (60%) from Verzenay, Aÿ, and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, and Chardonnay (40%) from Chouilly and Avize, all on chalky soils, which give the cuvée structure and finesse.
Fermentation takes place exclusively in oak barrels, symbolizing Bollinger's unique style (with an in-house cooper). The cuvée ages for more than twice the legal minimum in the cellar, under cork, with a second fermentation in the bottle for more than eight years on racks. Disgorging is done by hand and the dosage is 8 g/L.
Deep pale gold with slightly coppery highlights, refined and creamy effervescence.
Delicate aromas of stone fruits (grey apple, mirabelle plum, plum), followed by a hint of honey, then red fruits (blackberry, cherry), accompanied by exotic nuances of mango, vanilla and fine wood.
A fleshy attack, generous textures reminiscent of mirabelle plum jam, notes of chocolate and citrus on the long finish, punctuated by mineral nuances (slate, schist).
The 2015 La Grande Année vintage should be stored horizontally, between 10 and 12°C, away from vibrations and light.
Ready to drink now, it will evolve elegantly until 2042, according to critics.
La Grande Année 2015 is a prestigious cuvée, ideal for important occasions, gourmet meals, or pairing with fine foods.
