La Grande Année 2015 in magnum embodies the very essence of Bollinger style in a large format. The 2015 vintage, renowned for its concentration and generosity, is one of the most representative of the House.
The magnum of La Grande Année 2015 reflects Bollinger's traditional expertise. Sourced from the finest terroirs in Champagne, this cuvée is made exclusively from grapes from Premiers and Grands Crus vineyards. Composed mainly of 60% Pinot Noir fromAÿ, Verzenay and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, it is complemented by 40% Chardonnay from the villages of Chouilly and Avize. The year 2015, marked by ideal weather conditions, produced grapes of beautiful maturity, offering great aromatic richness. The 2015 vintage is renowned for its concentration and generosity.
Vinification takes place entirely in old oak barrels, maintained by a cooper who is a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France), in the Bollinger cellars. The estate has more than 3,500 barrels, a key element in shaping the cuvée's unique style. After a period of aging under cork, riddling and disgorging are carried out by hand, a tradition perpetuated by the house. The dosage is 8 grams per liter, ensuring a beautiful balance between faithful expression of the terroir and aromatic generosity.
La Grande Année 2015 in magnum has a bright golden color, crossed by fine, persistent bubbles.
The nose is remarkably intense. Aromas of stone fruits such as plum and mirabelle plum mingle with notes of honey and flowers. As it develops, hints of red berries such as cherry and blackcurrant emerge, accompanied by subtle nuances of vanilla and spices.
On the palate, this cuvée is full-bodied and generous. The creamy texture reveals all the richness of Pinot Noir, with flavors of cocoa and citrus, followed by a lovely mineral finish.
The magnum format is recognized as ideal for storing and aging champagnes. Its larger capacity allows the aromas to develop more slowly, preserving their freshness while accentuating their complexity over time. The magnum is appreciated for its generous size, allowing up to 15 flutes to be served.
