The Le Cépage magnum cuvéefrom Adrien Renoir embodies the quintessence of Verzy Grand Cru. Le Cépage is a Blanc de Pinot Noir, symbolic of the Montagne de Reims. This single-varietal cuvée offers great aromatic purity and beautiful power, magnified here by the magnum format, which promotes slow and integrated evolution.
Pinot Noir brings structure, precise red fruit and a chalky texture, while developing, over time, a floral and spicy complexity of great elegance.
Exclusively sourced from the Grand Cru terroir of Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims, this champagne draws its energy from clay-limestone soils with a predominantly chalky composition. The chalk imparts tension and saline purity, while the clay brings depth and velvety texture. It is a terroir of contrasts, where power and freshness coexist.
Fermentation takes place in oak barrels with indigenous yeasts. Prolonged aging on lees refines the texture and enriches the aromatic profile. The Extra Brut dosage highlights the direct expression of the grape variety and the integrity of the terroir.
In magnum format, the slower evolution allows for remarkable aromatic integration: the tension of the Pinot Noir rounds out without dissolving, and the bubbles gain finesse and persistence.
The Cépage in magnum combines freshness, fullness, and precision. Its straightforward structure and supple texture reflect the winemaker's style: careful work with wood, a search for balance between maturity and tension, and a faithful interpretation of the Verzy terroir.
The color is a luminous golden yellow with fine, regular bubbles. The effervescence, integrated over time, is a sign of a balanced champagne with controlled maturity.
The nose opens with notes of white flowers and yellow fruits, enhanced by accents of fresh almonds, toast, and a chalky touch characteristic of Verzy.
The palate is both full-bodied and straightforward, carried by a chalky minerality and a velvety texture. The fruit of the Pinot Noir unfolds with subtlety, supported by fine bubbles and a lingering salty finish.
Serve the magnum at 10–11°C in a tulip glass or a slightly tapered white wine glass. A short aeration brings out the chalky tension and brioche nuances of the Pinot Noir.
Store the magnum horizontally at 10–12°C in a stable, dark cellar. Thanks to its volume, it will evolve slowly and harmoniously over more than 12 years, developing aromas of dried fruit, honey, and undergrowth.

Wine tasters praise its chalky purity, velvety texture, and salty finish. In magnum format, it gains depth and persistence. Opinions on the Le Cépage Magnum Adrien Renoir cuvée
Yes, magnums promote slower and more consistent aging. The wine gains in aromatic harmony, finesse of bubbles, and complexity without losing its natural tension.
Yes, the dosage remains Extra Brut. In magnum format, the perceived balance is even more linear, with the volume of the wine softening the sensation of liveliness.
Thanks to its slow evolution, magnum bottles can be stored for 10 to 15 years. They will gradually develop aromas of truffle, hazelnut, and candied fruit, while retaining their salty freshness.
Perfect with seafood, delicate poultry, or soft cheeses. It is masterful with roasted lobster, Bresse chicken, or aged Saint-Félicien cheese.
