The Le Cépage cuvée (2021 harvest) is made from Pinot Noir grapes from the Grand Cru terroir of Verzy, nestled in the Montagne de Reims. The old vines, rooted in clay-limestone soils, give this cuvée a unique structure and minerality.
The grapes from the 2021 harvest were vinified in oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, promoting spontaneous fermentation. After aging on lees in the estate's cellars, the cuvée achieves remarkable complexity. Unfiltered and unclarified, this champagne retains all the purity of the grape variety. Finally, the low dosage, this is an Extra Brut cuvée, highlights its natural balance and freshness.
The 2021 vintage in Champagne was marked by varied weather conditions, allowing the grapes to ripen evenly. The Pinot Noir grapes from Verzy, in particular, stand out for their depth and aromatic intensity, while their natural acidity preserves the sparkling liveliness that is the hallmark of this delicate vintage.
The magnum Le Cépage (2021 harvest) has a sparkling golden color, punctuated by exceptionally fine bubbles.
Its captivating nose reveals floral aromas, complemented by notes of ripe red fruit, toasted hazelnut and a delicate hint of brioche.
On the palate, this magnum offers a chalky minerality that blends harmoniously with ripe fruit flavors. The texture is silky, while the salty, lingering finish evokes pure elegance.
The magnum is often considered the ideal format for exceptional champagnes. Its low oxygen/volume ratio promotes slower, more harmonious aging, accentuating the wine's aromatic richness and complexity. Perfect for special occasions, this prestigious format can serve up to 15 flutes, while adding a touch of elegance to your table.
