Adrien Renoir'sCépage (2022 vintage) is a Blanc de Noirs of great purity, born in the Grand Cru of Verzy (Montagne de Reims). It combines chalky energy, aromatic precision, and a silky texture resulting from controlled aging. Ideal as an aperitif, it also shines at the table, where its salty, taut finish enhances delicate dishes.
The cuvée is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, which brings structure, finesse, delicate red fruit, and a spicy texture. This single-varietal choice aims for clarity of expression: a straightforward, full-bodied, and precise Blanc de Noirs, where the grape variety expresses itself without artifice.
The grapes come from the Grand Cru terroir of Verzy (Montagne de Reims), on clay-limestone soils with a predominance of chalk. The chalk regulates water and temperature, promoting measured ripeness and noble acidity. It gives the cuvée its verticality and salinity, while the clay brings relief and fullness.
The wines from the 2022 harvest are vinified in oak barrels with indigenous yeasts. Aging on lees continues for 24 months to refine the texture and enrich the palette. The minimalist approach—without clarification or filtration—preserves the purity of the fruit and the chalky sensation. The dosage is Extra Brut, for a clean and vibrant balance.
A bright and warm year, 2022 delivered ripe grapes withwell-balanced acidity. In Verzy, Pinot Noir offers precise fruit and measured density. The vintage produces energetic, expressive, and already charming wines, whose natural tension favors good aging potential.
The Cépage (2022 harvest) has a bright golden color with straw-colored highlights. The effervescence is very fine, the mousse creamy; the whole promises a straightforward and slender style.
The nose reveals white flowers, citrus zest and yellow apple, enhancedby almond and a touch of brioche. With aeration, a chalky breath and a hint of fine spices add complexity to the bouquet.
The attack is lively and caressing. The mid-palate combines white fruit, dry chalk, and a hint of toast. The finish is salty and long, lingering on noble bitter notes that call for food.
Serve between 9 and 11°C in a slender tulip glass. Brief aeration in the glass reveals the chalky dimension and brioche nuances without dampening the tension.
Store bottles horizontally at 10–12°C, away from light and vibrations. Optimal window: 2027–2029, with an evolution towards light honey and dried fruit notes.
