Le Cépage (2021 harvest) is a Blanc de Noirs champagne of great elegance. This cuvée reveals the freshness of the Grand Cru terroir of Verzy and a rare aromatic complexity. It is an ideal champagne for aperitifs.
Le Cépage (2021 harvest) is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes from the Grand Cru terroir of Verzy, located on the prestigious Montagne de Reims. The grapes come from old vines rooted in clay-limestone soils. These grapes bring remarkable minerality and structure.
The grapes from the 2021 harvest were vinified in oak barrels, with spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts. The wines are aged on lees for 24 months in the estate's cellars. This aging brings richness and aromatic complexity. The minimalist approach, without clarification or filtration, preserves all the purity of the grape variety. Finally, this cuvée has been lightly dosed as Extra Brut, offering a perfect balance between freshness and intensity.
The Cépage (2021 harvest) has a bright golden color with fine, persistent bubbles.
The nose reveals a bouquet with floral aromas, notes of red fruit and delicate hints of hazelnut and brioche.
On the palate, this champagne offers a lively and fresh attack, supported by a chalky minerality. The mid-palate reveals a silky texture and flavors of ripe fruit, while the long, salty finish leaves an impression of pure elegance.
