The 2019 Courzy vintage by Nicolas Maillart is an atypical cuvée because it is made exclusively from Petit Meslier, a rare grape variety in Champagne.
Petit Meslier is a grape variety that stands out for its freshness, tension, and beautiful aromatic richness.
These grapes come from the Premier Cru terroir of Villers Allerand at the foot of the Montagne de Reims. The wines were vinified and aged in oak barrels for eight months.
This is an astonishing, intense cuvée that asserts itself through a rich and complex nose. The palate is distinguished by a tense, tonic, and frank attack that evolves in the mid-palate towards fruity and floral notes.
The finish is fresh and salty.
