The Cramant 20 vintage from Valentin Leflaive is a remarkable Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru. Produced in the prestigious Cramant terroir, it seduces with its minerality, freshness, and aromatic richness. This champagne is ideal for accompanying refined dishes or enhancing a beautiful aperitif.
The Cramant 20 cuvée is made from Chardonnay grapes sourced exclusively from the Grand Cru vineyards of Cramant, located in the Côte des Blancs. The vines, which are 55 years old on average, thrive on chalk-rich clay-limestone soils at an altitude of 210 meters. Facing east and southeast, these vines enjoy optimal sunshine, promoting uniform and complete ripening of the berries.
The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by a fractional pressing to retain only the best juices. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats and oak barrels, preserving the purity of the aromas while adding subtle complexity. After being drawn off in March 2021, the cuvée aged for 31 months on slats, developing a fine effervescence and an elegant structure. With a dosage of 2g/L, Cramant 20 reflects the precision and expertise of Valentin Leflaive.
Although Cramant 20 is not a vintage wine, it is made exclusively from the 2020 harvest. This year offered exceptional weather conditions, with alternating sunshine and moderate rainfall, allowing the grapes to ripen perfectly. In Cramant, the Chardonnays revealed vibrant freshness and marked minerality. They express all the richness of this exceptional terroir.
A pale gold color, illuminated by green highlights, with fine, persistent effervescence.
A subtle and expressive nose, marked by aromas of yellow fruits such as peach and pear, combined with notes of toasted hazelnuts and almonds.
The palate is full and buttery, typical of Chardonnay, with a salty and mineral finish that prolongs the pleasure on the palate.
The price of a bottle of Cramant 20 champagne from Valentin Leflaive is 82,95 €. This Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru, produced from an exceptional terroir and crafted with care, is a must-have for lovers of exceptional champagnes.
