Cuvée 1522 from Philipponnat is one of the finest in Champagne, highlighting the power and precision of the terroirs of Aÿ and Mesnil-sur-Oger.
Cuvée 1522 pays tribute to the year the Philipponnat family settled in the village of Aÿ.
The 2004 vintage of this champagne, a blend of 70% Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru terroir of Aÿ and 30% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru terroir of Mesnil-sur-Oger, was vinified in wood, without malolactic fermentation, to preserve the wine's freshness.
Cuvée 1522 Millésime 2004 by Philipponnat is pale gold in color.
The nose is expressive and lively, with notes of white fruit and honey. The second nose reveals a touch of spice.
On the palate, we discover a mineral champagne with a silky texture. The palate is dense and delicate.
The finish is persistent, structured and long.
