The RSRV 4.5 cuvée by G.H. Mumm is a tribute to the Grand Cru terroirs of Champagne. It is a champagne offering a rich experience of aromas and elegance. This unique champagne is perfect as an aperitif or to start a meal.
The RSRV 4.5 cuvée is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, sourced from the iconic Grand Cru terroirs of Verzenay, Bouzy, Aÿ, Cramant, and Avize. Each terroir is pressed and vinified separately to preserve its unique character. The wines are then blended with 20% reserve wines, adding depth and complexity. The cuvée is dosed at 6 g/L, providing a subtle balance between acidity and sweetness. Aged for at least four years in the house's historic cellars, it reveals all the richness of its Grand Cru origins.
The Grand Cru terroirs of Verzenay, Bouzy, Aÿ, Cramant, and Avize are located in the heart of the most prestigious regions of Champagne. Verzenay, nestled on the Montagne de Reims, is distinguished by its chalky soil, which gives the Pinot Noir grapes aromatic intensity and remarkable structure. Bouzy, also on the Montagne de Reims, is renowned for its powerful Pinot Noir grapes, with rich fruity notes and beautiful complexity. Further west, Aÿ embodies the history and tradition of Champagne, with limestone soils that produce wines that are both structured and elegant. On the Côte des Blancs, Cramant and Avize stand out for their Chardonnays of incomparable finesse. Their chalky soils and ideal exposure produce grapes that express lively freshness, subtle minerality, and delicate floral aromas. Together, these terroirs form the foundation of the RSRV 4.5 cuvée.
The color is a bright yellow with golden highlights, enlivened by a fine, persistent effervescence.
The nose offers a complex palette of yellow and white fruits, marmalade, honey and nougat, enhanced by notes of vanilla, mocha and a hint of roasting.
On the palate, the attack is lively and frank, evolving towards a refined roundness. The flavors of ripe fruit and toasted notes blend harmoniously, offering a long and elegant finish.
