      Description

The Brut Pinot Blanc cuvée from Maison Moutard is a rarity in Champagne. Made exclusively from Pinot Blanc, a historic grape variety that is rarely grown today, it offers a unique, fruity and generous expression of the Côte des Bar. This unusual champagne combines finesse, roundness and sensuality.

The production of Moutard's Brut Pinot Blanc champagne

This single-varietal champagne is produced from vines aged between 25 and 50 years old, pruned using the Guyot method and planted in the clay-limestone soils of the Kimmeridgian geological formation of the Côte des Bar. The vines are carefully tended, with natural fertilizers made from cow manure and grape marc.

      Vinification

This cuvée is partially vinified (20%) in 40-liter oak casks and stainless steel vats. The second fermentation in the bottle takes place at 15°C, followed by a minimum of 36 months of aging on slats in the cellars of the house. The dosage is 7 g/L, offering a balance between freshness and richness.

      Tasting notes

      • Appearance

The color is bright pale yellow with golden highlights, crossed by a fine, lively effervescence.

      • Nose

The nose seduces with aromas of ripe white fruit, pear, peach, and acacia flowers. A beautiful richness emerges from the very first aromas.

      • Palate

The palate is round, full and fruity. It retains a beautiful tension that gives it momentum. The Pinot Blanc offers a charming texture and a fresh finish.
