The wine is made entirely from the 2020 vintage. 2020 is a landmark year for the Louise Brison estate, as it is the first harvest certified as organic. The growing cycle started early, in optimal conditions, with rapid and uniform flowering. Despite episodes of summer heat, the grapes retained their freshness and balanced ripeness. This vintage is distinguished by its aromatic purity, dense texture, and excellent aging potential. It produces expressive, structured, and elegant champagnes.
The grapes come from a south/southeast-facing hillside at an altitude of 320 meters, located in the Côte des Bar. The soil is clay-limestone of Kimmeridgian origin, ideal for revealing the minerality and finesse of the Champagne grape varieties. This terroir gives the wine its natural balance between maturity and tension.
The cuvée is vinified and aged for nine months in oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is carried out, then the wine is bottled in July 2021. After prolonged aging on slats, disgorging takes place in September 2024. No sugar is added during disgorging, making this a brut nature wine. An uncompromising cuvée, designed to express the purity of the vintage.
The color is bright golden, slightly amber, with a fine, regular effervescence.
The nose opens with aromas of fresh citrus, white fruit, and dried flowers. With aeration, hints of hazelnut, infused lime blossom, and damp stone emerge.
The palate is full-bodied and pure, carried by a fleshy texture and great liveliness. Lemon zest, vine peach, redcurrant and a lingering saline finish are all present. A high-altitude cuvée, sculpted and precise.
The 2020 À l’Aube de la Côte des Bar cuvée should be stored horizontally, away from light, at a temperature of between 10 and 12°C. Thanks to its barrel ageing and the absence of dosage, it will develop beautifully over time.
This champagne can be kept until 2030. It will then develop more complex notes of dried fruit, sweet spices and melted wood.
À l'Aube de la Côte des Bar 2020 is a delicious, elegant cuvée, ideal for a seafood dinner, a gourmet meal, or a tasting of signature wines.
