Les Chemins d’Avize completes the range of champagnes from individual parcels produced by the house of Larmandier-Bernier, which already includes Vieilles Vignes de Cramant, Terre de Vertus and the Rosé de Saignée.
This 2009 vintage is the first for this new cuvee which was made possible by the acquisition of a small volume press allowing the two parcels from Avize which make up this cuvee to be treated individually.
It is 100% Chardonnay which has been aged in oak barrels and casks.
This is an incredibly mineral champagne, with vibrant floral, chalky aromas and notes of damp stone.
The Chemins d’Avize 2009 is has great personality and an impressive nervosity, with its magnificently tensile palate finishing on smoky and spicy notes of extraordinary length.
