This exceptional boxed set allows you to discover 2 prestigious Krug cuvées produced in 2011: La Grande Cuvée 167th edition and Vintage 2011.

2011 was an atypical year, with temperatures outside seasonal norms. As a result, the harvest was the second earliest since 1822.

This 167th edition brings together 191 different wines from the Krug vineyards and vintages ranging from 1995 to 2011. This cuvée has a deep gold color, with lively, fine bubbles. The nose reveals notes of dried fruit, citrus and ginger, followed by nougat, hazelnut, brioche and honey.

Vintage 2011 is an ample, generous and assertive champagne. The nose is dominated by aromas of fresh fruit, followed by an enveloping roundness of pastry, stewed fruit, smoky notes and thyme. The palate is chiseled and lively, and lingers on notes of sea salt and grapefruit zest.

Thanks to the Krug ID, a 6-digit number on the back label of each bottle, Cellar Master Eric Lebel tells what makes each cuvée special, from the challenges of the season to the details of its creation. The Krug ID also serves as a reference for storing bottles of Krug Champagne to be enjoyed at a later date, particularly Krug Grande Cuvée which, like all Krug champagnes, ages admirably.
