This exceptional gift set allows you to discover two prestigious cuvées from the House of Krug, produced in 2011: La Grande Cuvée 167th Edition and Vintage 2011.

2011 was an atypical year, with temperatures outside the seasonal norm. The harvest was the second earliest since 1822.

This 167th edition blends 191 different wines from the Krug vineyard and vintages ranging from 1995 to 2011. This cuvée has a deep golden color with lively, fine bubbles. It reveals a nose with notes of dried fruit, a touch of citrus and ginger, then opens up with notes of nougat, hazelnut, brioche, and honey.

The 2011 Vintage is a full-bodied, generous and assertive champagne. The nose is dominated by aromas of fresh fruit, then opens up to an enveloping roundness of pastry, stewed fruit, smoky notes and thyme. The palate is chiseled and lively, lingering on notes of sea salt and grapefruit zest.

Each bottle of Krug tells its own story. Thanks to the Krug ID, a six-digit number found on the back label of each bottle, Cellar Master Eric Lebel recounts what makes each cuvée unique, from the challenges of the season to the details of its creation. The Krug ID also serves as a reference for storing bottles of Krug Champagne for future enjoyment, particularly Krug Grande Cuvée, which, like all Krug champagnes, ages beautifully.
