Description

Krug Vintage 1988 is the interpretation of a very fine vintage, an exuberant, bewitching, elegant and racy vintage.

1988 got off to a mild start, followed by snow, rain and storms in February and March, with April and May alternating between fine weather and storms. A fine, very hot summer, favorable to good grape ripening, produced a particularly well-balanced harvest.

This 1988 Vintage is a blend of 32% Chardonnays, 50% Pinots Noirs and 18% Meuniers.

The nose is lively and floral.

On the palate, Vintage 1988 Krug bursts forth. Its delicacy gives it class and distinction, underlined by a superb bone structure. A wine of remarkable freshness and rich sensations: notes of orange blossom, dried fig, ripe quince and sweet spices.

A perfect match for turbot with hollandaise sauce, poultry served in a creamy sauce or sea bass with beurre blanc, and dried-fruit-based desserts. Almond and vanilla are also excellent companions, and can fuel any boldness.
