Cuvée Royale Blanc de Noirs 2011 from Joseph Perrier is an atypical Champagne cuvée. It's a single-vineyard, single-cellar, vintage cuvée.
This cuvée is made from Pinot Noir grapes from the "La Côte à Bras" plot in Cumières in the Marne Valley. The wine is aged on lees for a minimum of 90 months, and is not blended to preserve the wine's tension and the characteristics of its terroir.
Cumières Pinot Noirs are among the most renowned in Champagne. The 2011 vintage benefited from exceptional weather conditions, and the harvest was remarkably early!
This champagne has a golden straw yellow color, hemmed in with amber flashes.
The nose reveals delicate acidulous aromas, with hints of freshly squeezed citrus fruit, grapefruit and tangerine.
The palate is vinous and straightforward, evolving towards mineral notes. The finish is long and harmonious, dominated by the lemony freshness characteristic of Joseph Perrier.
Cuvée Royale Blanc de Noirs 2011 is a lively, pure champagne, ideal with delicate spider crab with fennel cream or spaghetti with bottarga and lemon zest.
