The production of Le Ciergelot 2020

Le Ciergelot 2020 champagne is made from a single plot, ZD214, located in Verneuil in the Marne Valley. Planted in 1969 halfway up the hillside, it covers 80 ares and rests on moderate clay-limestone soil. The south-facing exposure guarantees optimal ripeness, while natural grass cover and mechanical plowing ensure the balance and vitality of the vineyard.

This champagne is made exclusively from Meunier, the emblematic grape variety of the Marne Valley. It is a single-varietal, single-vineyard, single-vintage cuvée. Respecting the identity of the terroir and the grape variety, the house has chosen a zero dosage (0 g/L) to reveal the purity of the fruit. This first edition is extremely limited, with only 4,992 bottles and 224 magnums produced.

The 2020 vintage in Champagne was marked by ideal weather conditions: moderate heat, regular sunshine and well-distributed rainfall. The grapes reached perfect maturity while retaining a beautiful freshness.
