Jacquesson's Cuvée Avize Champ Caïn 2005 is a collector's champagne, made only in the finest vintages.
It's a Blanc de Blancs champagne made from Chardonnay from the Champ Caïn parcel in Avize. This is a terroir where chalk outcrops. On this 1.30-hectare plot, 12,000 vines were planted in 1962.
Only 9,544 bottles and 500 magnums of the 2005 vintage were produced.
Cuvée Avize Champ Cain 2005 Jacquesson was vinified in oak foudres for 9 months before bottling. This champagne was then disgorged in February 2015.
Cuvée Avize Champ Caïn 2005 is a magnificent cuvée that marries delicacy, purity and finesse. It's a mineral champagne, with a slight acidic touch of citrus and apple. The palate is straightforward, chalky and intense, always carried by this chiseled texture.
