      Description

The Cuve 38 vintage from Henriot champagne, presented in a magnum bottle, is much more than just champagne; it is a work of art in winemaking. With its unique history and aromatic richness, it stands out as the perfect choice for celebrating special moments.

The production of Henriot's Cuve 38 champagne

This cuvée was created in 1990, inspired by the visionary Joseph Henriot. That year, he decided to isolate a blend of Chardonnays from the house's four historic Grand Cru vineyards located on the Côte des Blancs: Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, and Chouilly. These wines were stored in a single vat, numbered 38.

From then on, with each harvest, wines from the same villages were added to the vat. The first draw from this perpetual reserve took place in 2009, with a wine blending vintages from 1990 to 2007. This third edition of Cuve 38 was released in 2011, blending vintages from 1990 to 2009.

Cuve 38 Henriot is a true testament to the expertise of the house and the Grand Cru terroirs of the Côte des Blancs. Time adds to time to form a masterful work that is constantly being reworked, enriched and extended.

      Tasting notes

      • Color

The color of the Cuve 38 cuvée is a brilliant gold with golden highlights, traversed by fine, dancing bubbles.

      • Nose

On the nose, this champagne reveals surprising aromatic complexity. Buttery notes and a hint of white flowers stand out. Then, on the second nose, more indulgent pastry aromas emerge.

      • Palate

On the palate, Cuve 38 is a model of balance and refinement. The freshness of the recent harvest blends harmoniously with the depth of older wines. This is a champagne with a fascinating balance. The cuvée reveals notes of candied citrus, ripe yellow fruit, followed by hints of honey and vanilla.
