Gosset Zero Dosage Champagne embodies the original purity of the House's style. The first "non-dosage" champagne ever produced in Aÿ, this cuvée reflects the desire to let the wine express itself fully, without artifice, in a straightforward and crystalline expression. Patiently aged on fine lees, it reveals a remarkable balance between tension and richness, faithful to Gosset's philosophy: to magnify the raw material and preserve the natural energy of the grapes. A precise, vibrant, and intensely mineral champagne.
Maison Gosset, the oldest Champagne house founded in 1584 in Aÿ, presents a cuvée to which no liqueur d'expédition is added. This choice of zero dosage requires raw materials of exceptional quality, as the wine can only rely on the natural balance of the grapes and the complexity acquired during its long aging process. The base of this champagne comes from the 2013 harvest, bottled after more than a year of maturation of the clear wines in vats on fine lees.
The grapes come mainly from Grand and Premier Cru villages such asAmbonnay, Avize, Bouzy, Cumières, Cramant, Villers-Marmery, and Rilly-la-Montagne. These iconic terroirs of the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs bring essential diversity to the complexity of the wine: the structure and depth of the Pinot Noirs from Ambonnay and Bouzy combine with the purity and chalky freshness of the Chardonnays from Avize and Cramant.
The cuvée benefited from prolonged work on fine lees during the first fermentation. Pumping over and resuspension enriched the texture and reinforced the substance, bringing roundness and natural density. Malolactic fermentation was carefully avoided in order to preserve the original freshness of the fruit. After bottling, the wine rested for ten years in the cellar, until disgorging in spring 2025. This prolonged contact with the lees allowed the champagne to develop sufficient generosity to dispense with any dosage.
The color of the Gosset Zero Dosage cuvée is a seductive , deep, luminous gold with warm highlights. The effervescence is fine, regular, and persistent, reflecting its long aging on lees. Its clarity and brilliance evoke the purity of its style.
On the nose, the champagne opens with a burst of freshness, with distinct aromas of marzipan, ripe lemon and dried fruit. As it breathes, more indulgent nuances appear: citrus fruit paste, floral notes and a touch of wet chalk. The complexity unfolds without excess, in a perfect balance between tension and generosity.
On the palate, the attack is both lively and enveloping. The wine's straightforward structure is balanced by a slightly creamy texture, the result of long contact with lees. Flavors of bergamot lemon, Canada apple, and salted butter caramel are apparent. The finish, with its iodine minerality, reveals subtle bitterness that prolongs the tasting with elegance and purity.
Store Gosset Zero Dosage in a cool, constant temperature environment between 10 and 12°C, away from light and vibrations. Its balanced structure and long aging process make this champagne suitable for slow and harmonious evolution.
This Brut Nature already reveals its aromatic precision and crystalline freshness. With 10 to 15 years of aging, it will develop richer nuances of honey, dried fruit, and candied fruit, without ever losing the integrity that characterizes the Gosset style.
Serve between 9 and 11°C in a wide-rimmed tulip glass to bring out its texture and minerality. This champagne is particularly enjoyable with food, but its precision also makes it an ideal companion for a refined aperitif.
