The 2020 Les Juliénnes Rosé cuvée from Georges Remy Champagne is a Grand Cru rosé de saignée made exclusively from grapes grown in the Les Juliénnes plot in Bouzy. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir, this cuvée reveals the intensity of the fruit and the precision of the chalky terroir.
Made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes harvested from the Les Juliénnes plot, this rosé is obtained by 18 hours of skin maceration to extract color and structure while preserving the freshness of the fruit.
Located in Bouzy, on the Montagne de Reims, the Les Juliénnes plot rests on brown limestone soil over chalk. The southern exposure promotes even ripening of the Pinot Noir, while the chalk outcrops lend mineral tension and persistent salinity. This terroir produces rosés that are both full-bodied and straightforward, with a vinosity balanced by a chalky structure of great precision.
Maceration for 18 hours allows for gentle extraction of color and phenolic compounds. The wine is then aged in oak barrels on fine lees, giving it a silky texture and added aromatic complexity. Bottling in July 2021 under cork promotes fine, integrated bubbles. Disgorged in October 2024, without dosage, it reveals a crystalline, taut and precise profile—a rare and expressive gastronomic rosé.
An early and sunny vintage, 2020 offered Bouzy grapes of exceptional maturity, balanced by remarkable natural acidity. The Pinot Noir achieves a rare fruity intensity—cherry, raspberry, sweet spices—while retaining the saline freshness characteristic of chalky soils. This contrast between richness and tension gives rise to a wine full of energy, both generous and deeply mineral.
Bright raspberry pink color. Fine, regular effervescence. Slightly coppery highlights, indicating beautiful maturity.
Precise aromas of fresh red fruits (cherry, redcurrant, wild strawberry), enhanced by notes of dried rose and candied citrus. The wood is discreetly integrated with a touch of toasted almond and light vanilla.
Juicy and straightforward attack. Full and silky texture, crisp red fruit, chalky tension and a salty finish. The Brut Nature highlights the purity of Pinot Noir and the length of the terroir.
This rosé combines fruity density and straightforward minerality. It pairs well with delicate white meats, fish with a fine texture, or slightly spicy dishes. Its salty structure and energy call for specific dishes that are not too sweet and have clean seasonings.
Store the bottle horizontally in a dark cellar at 10–12°C and 70% humidity. Avoid vibrations and temperature fluctuations. Allow to rest for 24 to 48 hours after transport before opening.
Optimal window: 2025–2035. From 2025 to 2028, the cuvée expresses vibrant red fruit and fresh tension. From 2029 to 2032, the texture gains volume, and the aromas evolve towards raspberry jam, fine brioche, and dried rose. Between 2033 and 2035, nuances of dried fruit, ripe grenadine, and a hint of spice appear, without losing the salinity of the terroir.
Serve at 10°C in tulip glasses. Do not decant. Open 10 to 15 minutes before serving to allow the bubbles to stabilize and the aromas to develop.
