Champagne Voie d'Oger 2016 is made from grapes grown in the eponymous vineyard, located in the Grand Cru terroirof Avize. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats to preserve all the freshness and varietal expression of the grape variety. The wine is then aged on its lees for over five years to develop its depth and complexity.
The cuvée was disgorged in July 2023 and lightly dosed with Extra Brut (1.2 g/l), in a refined style that highlights the authenticity of the terroir and the energy of the Chardonnay.
Despite a climate marked by contrasts, the 2016 vintage in Champagne produced wines of great precision. In Avize, the Chardonnay grapes took advantage of a sunny end to the season to reach beautiful maturity while retaining their characteristic liveliness. This vintage reveals all the tension and salinity characteristic of the greatest terroirs of the Côte des Blancs.
The Voie d'Oger 2016 has a pale, crystalline yellow color with silvery highlights and fine, delicate effervescence.
The nose reveals great aromatic precision, with aromas of ripe citrus fruits, white flowers, fresh hazelnut and a subtle hint of the sea reminiscent of oyster shells.
On the palate, this champagne is lively, incisive and salty, carried by a taut acidity and a rich texture. The finish is elegant and precise, leaving a salty persistence of great purity.
The price of a bottle of Doyard Voie d’Oger 2016 Champagne is 179,95 €. Its rarity and mineral brilliance make it a must-have for lovers of great Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru wines.
Champagne enthusiasts praise its integrity, mineral intensity, and aromatic precision. It seduces with its freshness and exceptional saline length. Read reviews of the 2016 Voie d'Oger cuvée.
The 2016 Voie d'Oger Champagne can be enjoyed now to appreciate its vibrant freshness, or cellared for another 5 to 7 years to develop more complexity. Serve between 42°F and 50°F in a tulip-shaped Champagne glass to reveal its full finesse.
The Voie d'Oger vineyard takes its name from an old road linking the villages of Oger and Avize. This exceptional plot, shaped by thousands of years of chalk, reveals through this vintage all the uniqueness of the Champagne identity, carried by the vision of Charles Doyard.
