Cuvée Hommage à William Deutz 2010 is the house's latest creation. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir d'Aÿ grapes, it's the perfect accompaniment to an aperitif, lobster or sushi.
A blend of 52% Pinot Noir from the Meurtet parcel and 48% Pinot Noir from the La Côte Glacière parcel, this cuvée pays tribute to the founder of the house and his historic terroir.
Cuvée Hommage à William Deutz 2010 is a crystalline, deep-gold color with coppery highlights. Its bubbles are fine and regular.
On the nose, the cuvée is very expressive, with lovely aromas of vine peach, quince, apricot and mirabelle plum. After a few seconds of warming, fine notes of honey and almond support this initial nose.
On tasting, Cuvée William Deutz 2010 expresses all the nobility of its terroir. It's a straightforward, pure champagne offering a superb balance of freshness, purity and complexity. After a clean, crisp attack, the wine expresses intense minerality. Beautiful, unctuous aromas of yellow and white fruits and a touch of ginger coat the palate.
The gourmet, distinguished finish lingers on a fine iodine note, typical of the hillsides from which this wine comes.
