This cuvée is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes grown on the historic "Le Bout du Clos" plot, planted by René Coutier in 1969 and 1970. The exceptional terroir of the Grand Cru d'Ambonnay, dominated by chalky soils, gives this cuvée a unique minerality. A year of ageing in ceramic amphorae and the absence of malolactic fermentation preserve its remarkable purity and freshness. Bottled in October 2018, this Extra-Brut champagne, with a minimal dosage of 1.5 g/l, expresses the very essence of its vintage.
Although complex, 2017 was a good year in Champagne, producing grapes with beautiful ripeness and great aromatic concentration. In Ambonnay, the weather conditions allowed the Pinot Noir to express all its richness and finesse, resulting in a cuvée of great precision.
The 2017 Le Bout du Clos has a bright, golden color with amber highlights.
The nose is expressive, blending juicy red fruit aromas with subtle mineral notes.
On the palate, it has a fine, silky texture with vibrant freshness and a salty finish, characteristic of the chalky terroir.
