      Description

La Pierre aux Larrons 2016 is an exceptional cuvée, a 100% Chardonnay that celebrates the origins of the R.H. Coutier estate. Production of La Pierre aux Larrons 2016 R.H. Coutier

This cuvée is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown in the "La Pierre aux Larrons" vineyard, planted in 1948 by Henri Coutier. The plot is located on soil composed of fine silt on soft limestone (white chalk), which offers remarkable minerality. Vinification in 228-liter oak barrels for one year adds depth and complexity. Bottled in April 2018, the wine has benefited from a long maturation period on lees of at least six years, revealing intense aromas and a silky texture. With a precise dosage of 2.5 g/l, this Extra-Brut cuvée captures the essence of the 2016 vintage.

      The 2016 vintage

The year 2016 in Champagne was marked by contrasting weather conditions, but it allowed the vines to produce grapes of great quality. In Ambonnay, this vintage revealed all the power and aromatic richness of Chardonnay, giving rise to wines of great intensity and exceptional complexity.
