The Vintage 2016 Grand Brut from Maison Brice is a champagne with lovely fruit notes and a hint of gourmandise, which will pair perfectly with noble products.
This champagne is made from grapes grown on the Grand Cru terroir of Bouzy, where Brice is based. The blend is predominantly Pinot Noir (80%), with a touch of Chardonnay (20%). All the wines are vinified and aged in 228-liter oak barrels to bring out fatness, complexity and deliciousness. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out, in order to preserve high tension.
The dosage is Extra Brut (4g/l), simply highlighting the aromatic and gourmand qualities of this Vintage 2016.
This cuvée has a golden color with intense reflections, and very fine bubbles.
On the nose, Vintage 2016 Brice reveals pretty floral notes that quickly evolve into fruitier aromas evoking apricot, peach and mirabelle plum.
On the palate, this cuvée opens with a clean, elegant attack, with a velvety, elegant mouthfeel. There are fruit notes on the mid-palate, but also a touch of patina brought by barrel ageing.
A champagne to be enjoyed as an aperitif, but above all as an accompaniment to fine white meats or shellfish.
