The originality of this rosé lies in its predominantly white grape varieties: 80% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs for finesse, and 20% Pinot Noir from the Grande Vallée de la Marne for fruit and color. The blend is based on a balance between 45% wines from the 2019 harvest and a majority of 55% reserve wines. This richness in reserve wines is the signature of the House, guaranteeing the consistency and depth of the wine.
The grapes come from two exceptional terroirs: the Côte des Blancs, the cradle of Chardonnay, and the Grande Vallée de la Marne, renowned for its Pinot Noir grapes. This combination allows mineral tension to be married with fruity generosity.
The vinification process is precise and respectful of time. The wines are aged in vats, with 20% in large oak barrels (sous-bois) and a small amount (<5%) in magnums under cork. The maturation time on lees is remarkable for a rosé, with an average of 60 months (5 years), allowing the wine to develop its texture. The dosage is Extra-Brut at 3 g/L, emphasizing the precision and freshness of the wine.
The V.19 edition is based on the 2019 harvest. This sunny year brought beautiful ripeness to the grapes, which, combined with the freshness of the reserve wines, offers a perfect balance between structure and liveliness.
The color, a light ruby with powdery highlights, is enlivened by a fine effervescence and a delicate string of bubbles.
The bouquet is inviting and spring-like, revealing hints of cherry blossom. It opens deliciously with notes of wild strawberry and raspberry.
The attack is tangy and invigorating, reminiscent of redcurrant and raspberry sorbet. The mid-palate balances the freshness of crisp red fruits with the richness of whipped cream. The finish is marked by beautiful citrus peel bitterness (blood orange, mandarin).
Delivered in a plain bottle, this cuvée is sensitive to light. It must be stored immediately in total darkness, lying down, in a cool cellar (68-54°F).
Rosé V.19 is ready to drink now to enjoy its fruity, springtime character. Thanks to its long aging on lees (5 years), it has a beautiful structure and can be stored in the cellar for 3 to 5 years, where it will develop more spicy and jammy notes.
Serve this rosé chilled, at around 9-10°C. A white wine glass is ideal for allowing the delicate aromas of cherry blossom and red berries to express themselves.
