The Dosage Zéro V.19 cuvée from Maison Lenoble is a subtle and distinguished champagne. This undosed champagne, made from three Champagne grape varieties, is distinguished by its prolonged aging in the Maison's historic cellars. The perfect balance and harmony of this cuvée comes from the combination of perfectly ripe grapes and the aromatic complexity provided by careful aging. This cuvée is for those who appreciate precision and naturalness.
The blend of this cuvée is dominated by black grape varieties: 40% Pinot Noir and 40% Meunier, complemented by 20% Chardonnay. The composition is based on a precise balance between wines from the 2019 harvest (52%) and a high proportion of reserve wines (48%). This significant proportion of reserve wines is essential to ensure the consistency and complexity of the Lenoble style.
The grapes come from the three iconic areas of Champagne: the Côte des Blancs, the Grande Vallée de la Marne, and the Vallée de la Marne. This diversity of terroirs allows us to draw out the typical characteristics of each grape variety where it expresses itself best.
The vinification process reflects a high level of artisanal expertise. The wines are aged in vats, but also 20% in oak barrels and 10% in magnums under cork. The maturation time on lees is particularly long for a non-vintage brut, with an average of 60 months (5 years), allowing the wine to refine and dispense with dosage (0 g/L).
The V.19 edition is mainly based on the 2019 harvest. This sunny, high-quality year produced rich, structured wines, which blend harmoniously with the depth of the reserve wines to create a cuvée that is both vinous and taut.
The color is a beautiful, bright and seductive gold. The effervescence is marked by fine bubbles and a delicate mousse.
The nose reveals a veritable bouquet of fleshy fruits, ranging from fresh fruit to fruit in syrup (young mirabelle plums, ripe pears, roasted pineapple). With aeration, tertiary notes of lightly toasted almonds and fresh bread, signatures of reserve wines, enrich this aromatic mosaic.
On the palate, the attack is clean and tangy, carried by finely chiseled bubbles. The wine offers a beautiful spicy and warm length, enhanced by a hint of lemon on the finish that provides delicate tactile sensations.
Delivered in a plain bottle, this cuvée is particularly sensitive to light (light taste). It is essential to store it immediately in total darkness, lying down, in a cool (10-12°C) and stable cellar. The absence of dosage makes this wine pure but demanding in terms of storage conditions.
Dosage Zéro V.19 is a gourmet wine ready to drink, having already benefited from 5 years of cellaring. It can be stored in the cellar for an additional 3 to 5 years, where it will develop more toasted and spicy notes, while retaining its characteristic integrity.
Serve this champagne at a temperature of 9 to 10°C. A white wine glass is recommended to allow the bouquet of fleshy fruits and spices to fully express itself.
The complexity of Dosage Zéro V.19 comes in part from a rare technique: aging reserve wines in corked magnums (10% of the blend). This method preserves the freshness of the reserve wines over the long term while giving them a subtle aromatic complexity (autolysis), ideal for non-dosage champagnes.
