The 2020 Carkonnia cuvée from Antoine Chevalier is an expressive Blanc de Blancs with aromas of yellow fruit and dried fruit. It is ideal as an aperitif or paired with fine fish and mature cheeses.
The 2020 Carkonnia cuvée is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown on the "Le Jardin de Meunier" plot in Vitry-en-Perthois, planted in 1954. This terroir in the Coteaux Vitryats, characterized by chalky soils, gives the wine a distinctive minerality. The vinification combines aging in stainless steel vats to preserve freshness and oak barrels to add complexity and depth. After nearly three years of aging in the cellars, the cuvée is dosed at Extra Brut at 2 g/L, highlighting the purity of the Chardonnay.
The 2020 vintage in Champagne was marked by favorable weather conditions, producing high-quality grapes. In the Coteaux Vitryats, Chardonnay particularly benefited from this year, developing rich aromas and beautiful acidity, elements that are found in the Carkonnia 20 cuvée.
The color of Carkonnia 2020 is bright and vibrant, with golden highlights and fine, persistent bubbles.
The nose reveals powerful aromas of ripe yellow fruit, accompanied by subtle pastry notes, reflecting the partial aging in oak barrels.
On the palate, the attack is supple and round, offering a lush and generous texture. The minerality brings balanced freshness, and the finish is elegantly woody with good length.
The price of a bottle of Carkonnia 2020 by Antoine Chevalier is 64,95 €. This is a cuvée of exceptional quality, produced from a single plot and using traditional methods. It is the perfect bottle for enthusiasts looking for an exceptional champagne offering excellent value for money.
Champagne lovers appreciate the Carkonnia 2020 vintage for its aromatic richness and complexity. The ripe fruit notes and mineral freshness are particularly noteworthy. To read detailed customer reviews, visit Reviews of Antoine Chevalier's Carkonnia 2020 vintage.

Tasting
By Patrick BorrasThe sparkling pale gold color immediately sets the tone. This is a Blanc de Blancs from chalky soil! The bubbles are fine, delicate, and pleasing to the eye.
On the nose, fresh citrus notes and mineral notes echoing the chalky terroir dominate. It is a very pleasant nose with beautiful aromatic intensity, particularly on the fruit. Brioche aromas round out this beautiful aromatic palette.
On the palate, Carkonnia 20 is very pleasant, with a round attack, followed by a rich and smooth texture on the palate. This texture is undoubtedly due to the aging of this beautiful champagne on fine lees. The finish remains lively, offering a very nice balance.
This is a wine that I recommend serving as an aperitif, but it also pairs beautifully with seafood thanks to its salinity and sapidity. A superb discovery!
