Cuvée Sous les Trous 2015 is the second vintage produced by Alexandre Grimée, a promising young winemaker. It's an astonishing cuvée, both in terms of its production and its personality.
This cuvée is a 100% Pinot Meunier whose grapes come from a single plot, "Sous les Trous", located in Bonneil, a village near Château-Thierry. It's a south-facing plot, where the vines thrive in clay-limestone soil.
The Pinots Meuniers that grow here offer great richness and a broad palette of aromas.
2015 was perfectly in line with the continental trend of the decade, with a mild, wet winter and a hot, dry summer. Thanks to a cool late summer, ripening produced juicy, ripe, concentrated grapes - a spectacular vintage.
Vinification was carried out in stainless steel tanks, with no blending. Bottling took place on March 7, 2016, with disgorging on January 12, 2022. This cuvée is a Brut Nature, meaning that no sugar has been added.
