Description

Le Terroir by Adrien Renoir, presented here in a magnum bottle, is a champagne that combines the chalky freshness of the Verzy terroir with the richness of oak aging. This cuvée is perfect as an aperitif.

The Terroir cuvée is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru classified terroir of Verzy, on the Montagne de Reims. This terroir is renowned for its chalky soil, which brings great freshness and minerality to the grapes. The base wines are vinified in barrels and the reserve wines, which represent 20% of the blend, are aged in large oak casks.

The blend is based on a majority of wines from the 2020 harvest, one of the finest harvests in recent years. This wine from the 2020 harvest is complemented by reserve wines that perpetuate the estate's identity.

These wines are aged on lees. After three years in the estate's cellars, the wines are disgorged and lightly dosed (1.6 g/L).

The Terroir Adrien Renoir has a golden, sparkling color with fine bubbles.

On the nose, this cuvée reveals initial notes of citrus and yellow fruit, which evolve towards slightly richer, more powerful notes.

On the palate, Terroir is a superb wine with a tense, frank attack, which then evolves towards a rounder, fruitier mid-palate.

A magnificent champagne that can be enjoyed as an aperitif, but also pairs beautifully with food.
