The cuvée Marie Lancelot from the house of Lancelot-Pienne is made in only very small quantities, no more than a few thousand bottles in the best years.
It is made from old vine Chardonnay planted on the Grand Cru terroir of Cramant, and selected from some of the most prestigious parcels of this exceptional terroir : Les Bourons, Les Buzons, Les Gouttes d'Or, Les Fourches du Midi, Les Moyens du Couchant.
In the 2009 vintage, the cuvée Marie Lancelot glimmers in its brilliant pale gold robe with its constellation of fine bubbles.
The nose is beautifully pure, very mineral and lightly chalky, with a creaminess and touch of spice characteristic of the Cramant terroir.
The imprint of the terroir is also present on the palate with its superb minerality and light brush of salinity.
Bright and gourmand, this is a rich, well-structured and elegant champagne whose fresh fruit aromas of grapefruit, pear and pineapple offer great finesse.
