La Vigne aux Gamins 2010 is a rare single-vineyard cuvée from Maison Thiénot, which brings out the best in Chardonnay on one of the Côte des Blancs' finest terroirs. Made exclusively from a single plot, this 2010 vintage reveals the mark of its year with finesse, in a luminous and elegant interpretation of the king of grape varieties.
Made exclusively from Chardonnay Grand Cru, the 2010 La Vigne aux Gamins is a Champagne of precision. The grapes are vinified with extreme care to preserve the purity of the fruit and the identity of the terroir. No oak aging is used in order to favor the natural expression of the grape variety and the soil.
Malolactic fermentation is deliberately blocked to preserve the beautiful tension and freshness characteristic of this exceptional terroir. The cuvée has been aged for over 10 years in the cellar before being disgorged, allowing the aromas to develop over time. The dosage is 6 g/L to enhance without masking the expression of the vintage.
The 2010 vintage in Champagne was marked by contrasting weather conditions. After a favorable start to the year, rainy spells during the summer affected some plots, but the great terroirs, particularly those of the Côte des Blancs, came out on top. Thanks to rigorous selection, the grapes destined for La Vigne aux Gamins reached beautiful maturity, combining richness and freshness, perfect for long aging.
The color of La Vigne aux Gamins 2010 is pale and bright, with subtle green highlights.
The nose reveals a precise and delicate aromatic palette, blending fresh aromas of candied lemon and fresh hazelnut, enriched by toasted and subtly smoky nuances.
On the palate, this champagne offers a lively and tense attack. The candied lemon flavors evolve into iodine notes and a buttery finish, bringing length and infinite smoothness.
