Simon Rion embodies a new generation of committed Champagne winemakers. In Courmas, in the small Montagne de Reims region, he has been cultivating 2.15 hectares using sustainable viticulture methods, without herbicides, since 2017. His champagnes are single-vineyard wines, precise, vinified without artifice, and bottled in limited quantities. Each cuvée tells the story of a place, a grape variety, and a vintage. It is artisanal work that places the terroir at the heart of the wine.
Among the emblematic cuvées of the Simon Rion estate is the Originel cuvée. A champagne rooted in the Courmas terroir, made from the three Champagne grape varieties. Vinified in stainless steel and concrete vats, with a measured dosage, this blended cuvée is a straightforward, pure and generous expression of Simon Rion's work. The Réserve cuvée embodies the history of the estate. This confidential cuvée is made using a family solera method. Composed of the three Champagne grape varieties and vinified in stainless steel vats, it benefits from extended aging of more than eight years on lees.
