The Blanc de Noirs 2013 produced by Eric Coulon is a Blanc de Noirs made from equal parts Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes grown on ungrafted vines.
Only grapes of exceptional ripeness are used in the composition of this vintage champagne, sourced from two plots, "Les Limons" in Vrigny and "Les Linguets" in Gueux. These two locations in the Montagne de Reims are situated between 100 and 120 meters above sea level, on flat, north- and southeast-facing slopes with sandy soils.
The 2013 vintage was particularly late, but the sunny summer provided maximum sunshine and low rainfall, ideal conditions for the Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes to ripen.
The grapes are pressed very slowly, followed by a short settling period to preserve the fruit and phenolic compounds. Alcoholic fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in low-temperature vats.
The wine is aged in vats on its lees for 10 months and clarification is natural, without fining or filtration.
The bottles are aged for a minimum of 7 years and the wine is lightly dosed at 3g/L.
