Louis Roederer's Vintage 2013 is a magnificent cuvée. It is a champagne of nuance and subtlety, revealing a myriad of flavors.

2013 was marked by a particularly late vegetative cycle. An interminable winter finally gave way to a cold spring. Fortunately, a very sunny summer and low rainfall produced grapes of excellent ripeness.

Roederer Vintage 2013 is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, partially aged in wood to add a gourmet touch and open up the wine. Its dosage is Brut, 9 grams per liter, bringing roundness to the wine.

This cuvée has a golden color with brilliant highlights.

The nose is subtle and discreet. You have to wait a few moments to discover notes of white fruit (apple, pear...) before moving on to a more gourmand register.

On the palate, this is a champagne with a broad, fruity attack. All the power and ripeness of Verzy's Pinots Noirs is present. Fresh vegetal and spicy notes, with a hint of ginger. This particular terroir of Pinots Noirs de Verzy, combined with a high proportion of traditional ageing in French oak foudres, reveals a host of smoky, spicy and mineral flavors, which combine with fresh vegetal notes to create a very gastronomic, umami-like experience!
