The Brut Nature 2009 Roederer by Philippe Starck is an intense, dynamic and rich champagne.
A continental, sunny year, with a very cold, dry winter, followed by a beautiful, sunny summer and virtually no rainfall in August and September. All of this contributed to the classic development of the vines, a remarkable state of health and masterful ripening of the grapes, resulting in dense, fruity and delicious wines! 2009 clearly belongs to the "square" of successful, brilliant Champagne vintages, with its sunny yet light signature. These grapes come exclusively from the Côteaux de Cumières.
Cuvée Brut Nature 2009 is aged on lees for 5 years, and also benefits from a minimum 6-month rest period after disgorgement to perfect its maturity.
To the eye, a yellow color with light amber highlights and a discreet, fine effervescence. Intense bouquet of sweet flowers (honeysuckle, broom), yellow fruit (peach) and lightly toasted dried fruit (hazelnut). This is followed by spicy, lemony notes reminiscent of Sansho pepper, as well as a soft, sweet, ripe impression reminiscent of chestnut cream.
Finally, the palate is both broad and light. Broad first, thanks to its creamy, soft, almost spherical texture that wraps and coats the palate formidably; light, because supported by a refined, saline freshness that "stretches" the material to give it a smooth, vaporous and delicate aspect. We remain spellbound by this beautiful expression of juicy, sun-kissed fruit, stretched into a delicate caress. The finish is carried by beautiful bitters and zesty, finely wooded spices.
